I have an exciting giveaway to offer readers that are thinking about taking the leap into wholesale trade show exhibition! Tradeshow Bootcamp is a series of teleconference workshops that were developed by my friend Katie of Kelp Designs. The workshops were offered this spring and were well received and now fall session is in full swing.
This giveaway is for one of the six workshops that are offered, the Networking session. On Thursday, October 20th - Chandra Greer, of GREER, and I will give participants an inside look at what retailers and reps are looking for when roaming the trade show floor and will be answering your specific questions.

Leave a comment with a question that you have for us regarding trade show networking. That's all! Good luck, winner will be announced on Monday, October 10th. As of today, there's still time to sign up for the remaining four workshops, highly recommended for first time exhibitors.

Very exciting. My question is about how much actual product to bring. I'm guessing you'd need items for display/examples as well as samples for potential customers. But since everyone would be ordering items to be shipped to them, do you really need a ton of multiple products on-hand?

Glad to hear you are participating in Tradeshow Bootcamp. I'll be a first-timer in May at NSS. My question: I've read some places that retailers and reps are more hesitant to order from and work with new companies/companies showing for the first time. How can someone like myself re-assure retailers and reps that my business is strong and that I will deliver?
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to hear what both of you have to say! I am curious as to what your advice is on how to best follow-up after the show with retailers that were interested in buying but didn't. Are email blasts a dime a dozen? A written note? A great mailer?

Can I change my question (but I'll keep the original #1 spot for the giveaway, I'm not trying to double-up). I have a question for Katie of Kelp Designs. I'm thinking of doing my first tradeshow at 36 weeks pregnant. I'd have to fly from Portland to LA. I heard you had a similar experience with NSS. Any thoughts? Would you do it again?
ReplyDeleteis it recommended to have some sort of take away/free giveaway to get people to come into your booth? should you stand at the booth entrance inviting people to come in? or just sit patiently and have your products speak for themselves? {i listened in on my first workshop last week, it was great!}
