letterpress lovely: darling press & stationers

I just love discovering new lines in my own backyard! Darling Press & Stationers is a two-person letterpress studio based in Portland, OR. I will definitely have my eye on this duo, very excited to see what they come up with next.

paper prada.

With NYFW still on the brain, I thought it would be fitting to post about this awesome "crafternoon" project that one of my favorite fashion blogger's, Elizabeth of White Lightening, created with scissors, scotch tape, construction paper and a marker. I'm partial to the Prada bag, but she also dreamt up a very realistic version of this Versus clutch. Tres chic!

the bibliofiles: book art photography by thomas allen

I am so taken by these photographs by Thomas Allen. He constructs dioramas from pulp novels and photographs them in the most pleasing ways. I've always had a sweet spot for pulp fiction and find myself buying old books with enticing covers, simply because they artwork is irresistible.

I highly recommend watching the video short he created, entitled Paper Cuts, it features an amazing array of his work.

For the past several years, I've looked forward to Kate Spade's "Be Mine" gallery of e-valentines that pops up in February. A smattering of cute and clever designs from a mix of great artists, what's not to love? If you're still searching for the perfect tangible Valentine, I've teamed up with Curbly for one more Valentine round-up: "Totally Sweet Valentine Cards for Her".
