introducing: c&c's new website

I couldn't help but take a moment to gush about my website re-design! The new site just went live today and I couldn't be more pleased. Many thanks to Allie Creative for her superb design skills and eternal patience.

new releases from ghost academy and spontaneous goody giveaway

Ghost Academy has a ton of new designs for spring! I'm totally in love with the new wooden gift tags above, they're sold singly and as an uber cute set. I highly recomend Megan's blog tutorial on block printing, for all you crafty types. While you're at it, be sure to check out their award ribbons that have nearly achieved a cult following, they make an excellent gift. I only wish I could claim GA alumni status...

I have three Ghost Academy cards to giveaway to one lucky reader. Just take a brief moment to check out their newly re-designed website and come back to this posting to comment. I will randomly draw one winner on Friday, April 3rd.

{shop} san francisco: perch

{handmade pillow by bonjour teaspoon}

{hand soap by foliage}

{print by tall cow | journals by elum designs}

Being constantly surrounded by the best offerings in modern retail is an occupational hazard for me. Perch, located in San Francisco's Glen Park neighborhood, definitely stands out as one of the brightest. A truly excellent selection of cards, jewelry, housewares, baby and vintage. Not to be missed for locals and those planning a future visit!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting with the buyer at
The Desk Set in San Francisco. While perusing her lovely shop, I re-discovered my love for Two Trick Pony. I had seen some of their designs at Pulp in Los Angeles, earlier in the year and was really struck by the color combinations and unique designs. Take a peek in their etsy shop for more pony perfection.

looney for LUprints

{'the birds' on white}

{'trembling aspen' tote in black}

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting of Ulla of LUprints at the Portland Gift Show, last May. It was love at first sight after catching a glimpse of her ultra-stylish booth. I ended up buying one of her handy-dandy totes, which I use almost daily. Check out all of her lovely wares, which are 25% off for the month of March.

I must begin with a confession, although all manifestations of green make me swoon, I'm not a big fan of St. Patrick's day. Not much of a pub-goer and secretly, I've always had a strange fear that a stranger may pinch me for not dressing accordingly. Having seen the musical Wicked, over the weekend, simply pushed me over the edge. Green is good, St Patty's day or any old day.

viva la vintage

ceramic cuckoo wall hanging

leicaflex (leica's first slr camera)

wooden serigraph from ussr, keeping ula company

One of my favorite pastimes is buying vintage goodies for re-sale or consignment. That being said, I don't typically find myself in antique malls because the mark-ups are usually beyond my budget. This week I made an exception, an old school house - turn antique mall in LaFayette, Oregon was just to intriguing to pass by without stopping. I only left with one item, though that cutie-pie cuckoo is still on my mind and not a moment has passed that I haven't lamented leaving the $700 Leicaflex. I'm really pleased with the Russian wall hanging I scored and even better, it was under $15.

roadside project stops traffic

Birthday Pop-Up Card

Readers of my blog have probably begun to discover that I'm an absolute papercut fiend. Imagine my delight when I bumped into Roadside Project's etsy shop! Jayne has created some amazing custom family portraits. I'm currently fantasizing about seeing my mister, my dog and myself as paper miniatures in one of her vignettes. In the meantime, I've decided on one of her prints, but can't seem to take my mind off of the 3D originals. No doubt, there will be more to say on this subject in the near future.

pretty, pretty park haus

Berlin's Park Haus speaks to two of my favorite things: felt and a complex color palette. While shopping at Canoe in downtown Portland yesterday, I rediscovered my love for this line. It's functional, affordable and just so pretty. I picked up a set of coasters in aqua and lemon and now I can't stop daydreaming about what my next purchase will be -- Perhaps this stylish laptop case, but then comes the real challenge, in which color?
