spotted in the wild: lions

Perhaps it's because I'm a Leo, but I can't seem to help noticing lions on paper goods. Lions seem to be a strong theme for Father's Day too, which is just right around the corner.

I'm constantly in awe of talented illustrators! I have many gifts, but sadly drawing just isn't one of them. Above are a few of the stand-out illustrated lines that I spotted in New York.

Red Cap Cards also features a bevvy of amazing illustrations. Carrie Gifford, illustrator extraordinaire and co-founder of Red Cap, just released some sweet new holiday cards to their collection. Additional new designs include illustrations from Blanca Gómez.

I'm always excited to see some hometown heroes when away from the Northwest! Therefore, I couldn't help but dedicate a blog post to some of the amazing designers that made the long trek to New York to show off their lovely wares. I missed a handful of exhibitors, but wanted to be sure to give these Northwest designers a shout-out, as well:

focus on: gift wrap

I must confess, I was much heavier on the chatting and not so much with the photos this year. I had an amazing time, only wish that I could have been two or maybe ten places at once...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are a few additional favorites that I wish I had photographed while at the Stationery Show:

Chewing the Cud >>> Their fabric wraps are unique and totally eco-chic. {image via chewing the cud}

Smock Paper >>> Everyone's a fan of this luxe, did I mention double-sided, paper. Word on the street is that they're introducing gift boxes...
{image via smock paper}

Eieio >>> This company is known for their exquisite, modern wrap. Have you seen their new 18 sheet hanging collection yet?
{image via luxe paperie}

Sanna Annukka>>> The lovely and equally paper-crazed, Molly turned me on to this talented Finnish designer right before I left for NYC. I'm smitten. {image via nineteenseventythree}

I was really impressed by the use of color from so many of the designers at the show. These are just a sampling of the lines that caught my eye. More show scoop to come!
