One of the highlights of being in town for the NYIGF this month was peeping Rock Scissor Paper's gorgeous booth and new products in person. I think they really hit it out of the park with their new designs and am super excited about their newest gift item: ceramic coin banks.

creative crush: wolfum

In preparation for the C&C 2012 show schedule, Kimberley and I were perusing the NYIGF last week. Wolfum is one line that really stood out to me in the "At Home" section of the show. I'd pretty much like to have something from their collection in every room of my home. Though, I think the tiger bookend may be my all-time favorite!

Jane's Papers made their debut at the National Stationery Show this year and their gorgeous booth and deliciously styled photography made a real impression on me. I suspect that this line will appeal to more than just Austen enthusiasts, as the designs are quite strong. Looking forward to seeing this line grow.

gifty goodness from chewing the cud

I am a major fan of Chewing the Cud's line. Can you even believe how adorable their canvas buckets are? If I were to receive a gift packaged in this I would probably spontaneously combust from joy. A postscript to the mister, let's see if he's really paying attention: My birthday's in one month from today, so you know if you want to see me do a serious happy dance, look no further.

Red Cap Cards just proudly released 8 new everyday designs from artist, Blanca Gómez. They're not yet available on the website, but stay tuned and you'll be sure to see these cards gracing the shelves of your favorite stationery shop!

angela adams + egg press giveaway!

I know I'm not alone in the sheer joy I felt when I found out about the Egg Press collaboration with Angela Adams. A match made in heaven, I tell you! Egg Press is having a moving sale here in Portland, OR this week and I picked up some cards at their studio yesterday and thought I really ought to share the love.

I'm dreadfully late to try to call this a Father's Day post, but I just had to give a little shout out to my pop and have had this awesome image from Sycamore Street Press on my desktop for weeks.

This is my fifth year working in the stationery industry and it wasn't until recently that I connected how much my dad shaped my passion and interest in cool cards. He was really my first pen pal. From a young age, he was frequently gone for work and eventually when my parents separated, he made it a point to write me letters on unique cards. I even have a letterpress card he sent me from the late 80's - by Saturn Press, if you're curious.

My dad has also been a major champion of my business, when I travel to Los Angeles to call on shops he often acts as my chauffeur. Many of the buyers I work with know my dad and will make a point to ask about him or say hello. He'll call to tell me about new shops that sell cards, how sweet is that?

I'm eternally grateful to all my friends and family that have been a major support in my business endeavors, but wanted to take a moment to highlight my own dad, for whom will never be too manly for letterpress!

I'm ecstatic that Linda & Harriett have released a new collection of notepads! I got a glimpse of them in person at the Stationery Show and they are positively lovely. I bought a personalized chevron pad from L&H a while back and it's still one of my favorite desk accouterments. Act now, these beauties are limited edition.

I have the distinct pleasure of getting to see buyer's reactions to Blue Barnhouse's line of cards on a regular basis. It's pretty entertaining to watch the array of responses, more often than not, the type of laugh that escapes before the person even realizes that they are cackling aloud. That was most definitely me in many of these booths this year, particularly in Old Tom Foolery's booth. Hot damn, do they ever know the perfect combination of wicked wit.
