{2012 national stationery show}
sneak peek: dear hancock

Dear Hancock's much anticipated desk calendar will be making it's grand debut in just a few days at NSS! The desk series began as a small stationery series and has been so wildly popular that they've expanded their offerings. I even got in on the action last year with a stunning custom desk painted by Dear Hancock. In addition to their calendar, DH has been hard at work on a number of new everyday and holiday cards. How darling are those silhouette birthday cards above?

{12 days of holiday cheer}:
two trick pony giveaway {no. 12}

Today is the last post in our "Holiday Cheer" series and I'm excited to say that it comes along with a generous giveaway from two of my favorite ladies at Two Trick Pony. If you didn't get your Hanukkah or Christmas cards in the mail, there's still time to send a cute card welcoming the new year!

To enter the giveaway:
First, like Two Trick Pony on Facebook and while you're there, head over to the Crow & Canary page and like or comment on the giveaway post at the top of the page. Really, that's all. We'll randomly choose one winner on Friday afternoon and announce it on the C&C Facebook page.

The winner will receive their choice of a Happy New Year boxed set AND Two Trick Pony's much lauded 2012 Year of Type calendar. Just a reminder: Comments on this blog will not be considered an entry.

{letterpress collection: trip to the fair}

Blackbird Letterpress has the perfect gift offerings for the letterpress lover or bibliophile on your list. I love the idea of themed collections as a gift, such a great idea! The upcycled vintage book cover datebooks are a super awesome collaboration with Gutwrench Press. The pages inside are printed with both handset type and photopolymer plates - quite an undertaking, with stunning results.

chalk it up to a brand new year

Paper + Cup has had a busy year! Not only did they release their new book, Paper + Craft, but this innovative calendar is hot off the press too. The concept is super fun; instead of a calendar with images included, you have the freedom to add your own personal photos or monthly inspiration. The other awesome component, you can customize the cover with an image and/or name. Excellent gift idea!

perpetual bliss.

{embroidered calendar from by sara lynn}

{letterpress perpetual calendars from orange beautiful}

{vinyl wall calendar from simple shapes}

As a self proclaimed calendar addict, I love the idea of a well designed perpetual calendar. This is the first year that I've seen any that truly float my boat. I have three, okay fine four, 2011 calendars, but am thinking that I may invest in a nice perpetual calendar for 2012. Getting excited for the new year ahead!

owl always love calendars

Attention fellow calendar enthusiasts! I have two big pieces of news in the world of pretty, little yearly planners...

{image via design crush}

I have no clue how I managed to miss out on this swap last year, but luckily I am totally dialed in to the 2010 calendar swap organized by Design Crush and Greedy Girl. You can read all about the details of the swap here. I can hardly wait to start my search!

{image via my owl barn}

I had to share the love I discovered over at My Owl Barn, this morning, too. They've teamed up with a bevvy of lovely artists, each contributing a unique owl illustration. You can select your favorite images from the 30 available to make a customized calendar. Uh, did I mention that this is entirely free? What an excellent holiday gift! Make your very own here.

So maybe it's a wee bit early in the year to start talking 2011 calendars, but I simply can't help myself. The Stationery Show always get me salivating over next years calendar and I know I'm not the only bonafide junky out there. I didn't get a chance to photograph Linda & Harriett's lovely new release, but that is definitely another one to keep your eye on.
