{2012"year of type" calendar from two trick pony}

I've saved some of the best for last - four exhibitors that Crow & Canary reps! A note to our wholesale buyers, many of the great lines we represent are extending their show specials through the rest of the month, exclusively for C&C accounts. Please email for details, if you're interested.

I hope that you've enjoyed our week of sneak peeks - we can't wait to bring you more coverage during and after the 2011 National Stationery Show. Feel free to let us know what you'd like to see more of.

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: rifle paper co.

I think it goes without saying that Rifle Paper Co. is well beloved by stationery and design enthusiasts around the world. Anna was kind enough to put together a collage for C&C readers that features some new products that have yet to be seen. Debuting of course, on Sunday, in booth no. 3124. See you there...

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: ink + wit

I'm truly a fan of everything that Tara Hogan of Ink + Wit designs, therefore I was giddy with excitement when I found out that Tara was game for a peek of her new products, debuting at NSS on Sunday. Swoon over Ink + Wit's stamps, mobiles, gift wrap, prints, tea towels and cards in booth no. 1743.

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: sugarcube press

I simply cannot attend the Stationery Show without stopping in Sugarcube Press' booth to say hello and see what's new. The sweet duo have been hard at work again, I can't wait to get a gander at their new coaster calendar. And speaking of coasters, I'm sure you have a hunch that I'm mad about their new crow coaster (hey, where's the canary?). Satisfy your sweet tooth in booth no. 1647.

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: posters by up up creative

I was delighted to discover that Julie of Up Up Creative will be at exhibiting at the Stationery Show for the first this year in booth no. 2067 -- I've had the pleasure of following Julie on twitter and purchasing some of her clever printables over the years. Up Up Creative sent me a peek of these three lovely typographical beauties. All prints are 13 x 19, printed on heavy 100% cotton rag in Julie's studio in Rochester, NY.

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: double bravo designs

I'm quite excited to acquaint you with Double Bravo Designs. The " I Do" and "When You Were Born" collections are, as designer Barbara aptly puts it, "Both a time capsule and a future family heirloom." The series currently features the following cities: New York, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Portland. From what I know of the well-traveled Barbara, it's only a matter of time before future destinations are added.

One more important note, a portion of the proceeds from all of the London cards will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital a pediatric facility in London, in honor and memory of Barbara's brother Francisco.

Visit Double Bravo in booth no. 2669.

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: banquet atelier & workshop

Banquet Workshop is another lovely line making their debut at the Stationery Show this year. I'm quite looking forward to checking out this Vancouver, BC based company's prints, cards and gift wrap in person. They are exhibiting in booth no. 1452, if you're interested in doing the same.

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: yellow owl workshop

An exciting first glimpse from Yellow Owl Workshop! I am totally wild about this new patterned thank you note set, the box includes 8 cards - two of each design. Yellow Owl Workshop is represented by Aesthetic Movement (booth no. 3550), which is where you'll find the latest and greatest from them at NSS.

They are also offering a printmaking workshop and book signing at the West Elm on Broadway and 62nd on Saturday, May 14th. If you can't make the event, be sure to check out Christine's book: "Print Workshop: Hand-Printing Techniques + Truly Original Projects".

{2011 national stationery show} pre-show picks

I can't tell you how excited I am to (not only) attend the National Stationery Show again, but to also have the chance to blog about all the amazing new designs from existing greats and to discover first time exhibitors at the show. It truly is one of my favorite events of the year.

If you'll be at the show, please don't be shy - feel free to introduce yourself and point me in the direction of your booth. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making connections with all sorts of awesome stationers and stationery enthusiasts. See you at the Javits!

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: dear hancock

I had the pleasure of meeting Gwendolyn of Dear Hancock at the first of the year and have essentially been a bonafide fan of the line ever since. Gwendolyn and Earnest (the other half of their lovely line) have been kind enough to share a peek of a brand new 11x14 print debuting at the Stationery Show next week. I love this sweet and simple sentiment. Perfect for a country or city mouse, if you will. Dear Hancock is making their official debut at NSS this year, be sure to stop by booth no. 1934 and say hello.

{2011 national stationery show} sneak peek: bookmarks from night owl paper goods

Hot off the press from our friends at Night Owl Paper Goods -- new bookmark/rulers will be making their debut in booth no. 1644 at NSS next week, alongside 75+ new designs. These guys are clearly living up to their Night Owl name, as I can't imagine they've been getting much sleep lately!

hanky panky

I'm in Los Angeles this week visiting my dad and was delighted to discover this lovely and unique wedding invitation on his desk, from his friends Matt and Megan. The handkerchief is such a fun idea and I love that it reads "Please retain this hanky to dry your tears of joy" at the bottom. I was also struck that their return address stamp was made by a personal favorite, NoteTrunk.

UPDATE: Megan kindly sent me credits to all the amazing folks involved. Lexy of Scissorhands designed the invitation suite. Spoonflower printed the design on fabric and the hankies were finished by Danice, the "Sewing Lady". The vintage postage was purchased through Stamp Gallery in Walnut Creek, CA - an ever appreciated detail.

Please note: Whaler Vineyard is a private residence, they do not offer venue rental to the public.
